WebSphere Message Migration Utility Version 6
---------------------------------------------

This utility is designed for a system administrator who is following the migration sequence from a WebSphere Application Server
Version 5.x to WebSphere Application Server Version 6.0.x, and who wishes to migrate messages from the Version 5.x embedded
messaging queues to the Version 6.0.x default messaging queues.

You can find out more about the WebSphere Application Server Version 6 and the Message Migration Utility using the InfoCenter.
When you run the Message Migration Utility you will also be asked to read the User's Guide which gives full information on
when and how you should use it. You will also be asked to read the Licence agreement that covers use of this utility.

This readme file gives a summary of the information contained in the User's Guide that you will need to get started.

When to run the WebSphere Message Migration Utility
---------------------------------------------------
Decide if you want to migrate messages from the Version 5.x embedded messaging queues to the Version 6.x default messaging
provider. If you do, run the WebSphere Message Migration Utility as part of the migration of your WebSphere Application Server
Version 5.x to WebSphere Application Server Version 6.x. The message migration utility takes the contents of existing
WebSphere Application Server Version 5.x embedded messaging queue(s) and puts them on the new WebSphere Application Server
Version 6.x default messaging queues.

The message migration utility runs on the premise that you have not modified or deleted the message queues on WebSphere
Application Server Version 5.x.

You run the message migration utility only once for a particular queue. It is possible to migrate multiple queues during a single
execution of the utility if you wish. You will need to run the migration utility more than once if:

    * You wish to reverse the message migration (i.e. move the messages back to WebSphere Application Server Version 5.x), or
    * The first message migration attempt was unsuccessful, or
    * You reverse the migration of the WebSphere Application Server (i.e. move your server back to WebSphere Application Server Version 5.x).

If, having migrated the server and messages to Version 6.x, you decide to reverse that migration, first run the message
migration utility in the direction: Version 6 to Version 5.

   2. Check the port number. Providing the port number used by the web container has not been changed you can go to the following address

replace "9080" with the correct port
